Enrichment Session & Residencies Immediately following the assembly, Professor Pitch and Dr. Decible bring the
excitement of Sound into your classrooms. Students create their own musical instrument and make
choices for its final sound. Activities involve math by the use of measuring, predictions, graphs,
and geometry. Residencies are 1-4 days of core group instruction plus one day of school assemblies
for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Teachers can customize the focus of their residency instruction by
choosing from several different activities: students can create their own instruments, conduct
science experiments, and create their own communication device. Students will learn the SC and
National Standards for Sound and Sound Production through lecture, demonstration, group work, and
hands-on activities.
